"Hm-Why Start Now?"

I asked myself this question today. Honestly- I've never had that itch to "blog" "tweet" or express my inner thoughts, opinions, assumptions, etc to the World Wide Web. I've always thought "Who Cares?" (Kinda still do, haha)

So? Why start now?

Recently I have felt compelled to design....create.....fix. I guess the true "DIY" spirit inside me has decided to make its appearance. This past June I bought my very first home. Yes me! By myself! (Sorry-I do run into haters) I just turned 24 years old , so I'm pretty pumped about this big step officially introducing me into the "grown up" world. As much as it sucks growing up, it has its perks at the same time. And being a home owner also has that bitter-but-oh-so-sweet feeling....

Before moving in I figured I would try and muster up some extra money to hire a fancy interior decorator. Who knows why, it could have been the initial pressure to make my house "perfect" so I could naturally fit into Suburbia--or my own little Pleasantville! Luckily I live in downtown Fayetteville, AR (keep it funky) and LUCKILY things took a turn for the better. I slapped myself, came back to reality, put on my big girl panties, and in the process discovered a new love!

So after what seems to be my endless blabbing, let me get back to the whole point of this blog creation. My little house explains it all. It was built in the 1930's, so many personalities have come in and out of its life...ah the character! This past year it was completely renovated from ground up, but it still has the lovely charm of a 1930's bungalow. There it is--->My discovery. I love old. I love character. I love antique. I love old fashioned-vintage-ahhh, I'm smiling right now. THE POSSIBILITIES! So what in the heck does all this mean? And why am I telling you? Because I am off to explore a new passion of mine, and blogging about it will make it all the more real. I'm hoping for this blog to give me a little push, a little purpose, and alot of accountability to stay with it.
And along the way my goal is to share this exploration with the World Wide Web....Julie and Julia style! So...watch for updates (Before and After's, DIY projects, things I Love, etc). More than likely this will be total randomness...Here we go....
